Despite the so-so reviews, I really enjoyed Elizabethtown. During the movie, I kept thinking that it reminded me of Garden State. The main character, Drew [eerily similar to Andrew in G.S.], is at a low point in his life and contemplating suicide, when he learns his father has died. His mother and sister’s need for him postpones his suicide attempt, and he leaves Oregon for Kentucky. Along the way, he meets flight attendant Claire Colburn. On his journey home, and through a new romance with Claire, Drew finds a new purpose in life.
