Funny and lighthearted, Saving Face made me laugh and feel for what the characters were experiencing. Wil, a Chinese-American is a closet lesbian, trying to find a way to tell her family about her sexual preference. Her widowed traditional mother becomes pregnant with an unknown man’s child and is thrown out of her parent’s house. Wil and her mother share an apartment for a time, with Wil trying to hide her latest girlfriend from her mother, and Ma trying to regain some respect from the close Chinese community she belongs to by finding a husband to marry. In the end, both Wil and her mother are forced to make choices about who they really love.
