Paradise Now

It’s a bit ironic that I watched this movie in the same day that I saw Munich. Munich focused on Israel’s reaction to violence from the Palestinians, whereas this story is told from the point of view of two Palestinian friends who are asked to take part in a Tel Aviv suicide bombing mission. The part that I enjoyed most about this movie is the fact that I haven’t really ever seen a Palestinian’s view on their situation. Being an American, we’re so often given a favorable view of Israel’s side, while Palestinians are made out to be terrorists. While I don’t condone their methods of fighting the occupation, this movie portrayed the helplessness the two main characters felt in their situation.
