The Producers

The Producers

This is one of those musicals that should have stayed on the stage instead of transitioning to a movie. The slapstick humor is a little over the top, and while this is acceptible during a live performance, it just didn’t work on film. The plot was nearly the same; two Broadway producers decide that they can make money by putting on a show that flops. They decide on the musical “Springtime for Hitler”. The show turns out to be a big hit and the producers must deal with the success.
