Little Manhattan

Little Manhattan

This was a cute, feel-good movie about a topic that almost everyone can relate to: your first love. In this case, it’s two fifth graders growing up in Manhattan. Gabe and Rosemary have known each other since kindergarten and currently attend karate together, where they become sparring partners. As they practice and get to know each other, Gabe finds he’s falling for Rosemary. Soon, he can’t get her out of his mind. They spend their summer vacation attached at the hip until Rosemary announces that she’s leaving for summer camp – a six-week event [read: a lifetime in the eyes of a fifth grader]. Again, this was a comedy that everyone can relate to – and the songs in the movie are great. It’s too bad there’s no official soundtrack.
