This was a really enjoyable movie; it was funny, sincere, and centered around a good theme: chasing your dreams no matter how distant they may seem. Olive Hoover learns that she has won the local Little Miss Sunshine beauty/talent pageant. She is to appear at the national pageant, held in California. Her dysfunctional family decides to drive her there, including her brother, who has taken a vow of silence until he joins the Air Force and her gay uncle, who has just tried to commit suicide. This movie has a lot of laughs, all the way up through the end, where Olive performs in the talent show.
