Spider-Man 3

The third installment of the Spider-Man series was somewhat entertaining, but didn’t live up to the standard set by the first two movies.  There were too many villains.  There’s Harry, Peter’s ex-friend, still trying to avenge his father’s death, then there’s Flint Marko, who is the man who actually killed Peter’s Uncle Ben, then there’s this new black alien-like web that attaches itself to Peter, and finally there’s Eddie Brock, his new competition at the Daily Bugle.  Somehow, in between fighting all of those villains, they managed to stuff in a failed proposal to Mary Jane and new romance with Gwen Stacy, Peter’s lab partner.  As usual, the action scenes were impressive, so the movie is watchable.  One other highlight: Bruce Campell, who plays the hilarious maitre d’ at the French restaurant, where Peter tries to propose to Mary Jane.
