Shrek the Third

As I watched this movie, I realized how disinterested I was in it.  My mind kept drifting, and by the end, I was on my computer doing some work.  The plot was thin, the jokes weren’t funny, and it didn’t have any of the charm that the first two Shrek’s had.

The Diana Chronicles

Tina Brown
Ever since watching The Queen, I’ve been interested in Princess Di and the Windsors. It’s strange to think that Diana has been dead ten years. And still, the world is captivated by her and her short life. As this is the only biography I’ve ever read on Diana, it’s hard to […]

The English Assassin

Daniel Silva
Of the three Daniel Silva books I’ve read, this was my least favorite. Something didn’t flow right and I never really got into the book. I didn’t like the leading female character and the ending was very anti-climactic.

J. K. Rowling
It was weird to finish this book and not have another one to look forward to.   As everyone already knows, this is the most serious of the novels, with several characters dying, losing loved ones, or being seriously injured.  I’m amazed at the level of plotting Rowling has done throughout these seven […]

Sharp Objects

Gillian Flynn
Gillian Flynn’s first novel was darkly funny, suspenseful, and an all-around good “page-turner”. Camille Preaker, working as a reporter for a Chicago newspaper, is sent to her hometown of Wind Gap to cover the murders of two young girls. Wind Gap, the model of small-town USA, holds many secrets and Preaker digs […]

Ratatouille

This is my favorite Brad Bird movie and one of my favorite Pixar movies. The animation was great, the dialog was funny, it was set in Paris, and best of all, it was about food.  Remy, a rat, discovers his passion for food and cooking.  After a soup (that Remy helps a new, young chef […]
