J. K. Rowling
It was weird to finish this book and not have another one to look forward to. As everyone already knows, this is the most serious of the novels, with several characters dying, losing loved ones, or being seriously injured. I’m amazed at the level of plotting Rowling has done throughout these seven novels. I haven’t read too many interviews of hers, but I’ve often wondered how much of the plot she had laid out before she began writing Book One. One suggestion for those who haven’t read this book yet: read this summary of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I found that I had forgotten a lot of the details from Book Six.
Overall, I loved the book, and was happy with the ending. I’m sad that there aren’t any other books in this series, but who knows what Rowling has up her sleeve…
