An excellent mystery that reminded me of The Thirteenth Tale in that it involved people who love books. In this story, a young Daniel Sempere finds the novel “The Shadow of the Wind”, by Julian Carax, in an old book store. He learns that the book is extremely rare and falls in love with the story, although not much of the novel is ever revealed in the book. Shortly after Daniel finds the book, he is haunted by a faceless man, named Lain Coubert. Daniel soon finds himself in a very twisted tale of love, friendship, and deceit.
