Three Cups of Tea

Greg Mortenson  and David Oliver Relin

This incredibly moving book is the story of how one man can change the world.  Greg Mortenson was a young hiker when he failed to make it to the summit of K2, the second highest mountain in the world.  On his way down, he finds a small, remote village in Pakistan where the children do not have a school.  Mortenson promises that he’ll build the village a school – not just one for boys, but for girls, as well.  Not only does he make good on that promise, but he pledges to continue building schools all across Pakistan.  Mortenson goes on to become the director of the Central Asia Institute, which, to this date, has built 61 schools in rural Pakistan and Afghanistan, and educates over 25,000 students.
