According to my reviews, I read and/or listened to 48 books in 2007. I do a lot of driving, so belonging to Audible allows me to “read” a lot of books I may not otherwise have gotten to. I thought it would be interesting to review them and make a list of the top books I read in 2007. Here they are, starting with my favorite:
1. A Thousand Splendid Suns – By far, the best book I read in 2007. It could possibly be one of the best books I’ve ever read (fiction).
2. Enrique’s Journey – A moving story of one Honduran boy’s journey through Central America and Mexico to reach the United States (non-fiction).
3. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – Very funny book. I fell in love with the main character and his simple way of looking at life (fiction).
4. Animal, Vegetable, Miracle – All about one of my favorite topics: food (non-fiction)!
5. A Long Way Gone – The eye-opening story of a young man’s experiences while growing up in Sierra Leone in the 90′s (non-fiction).
6. Getting Things Done – A productivity book that helped me organize both my personal and professional life (non-fiction).
7. Born on a Blue Day – A unique look into the life of an autistic man and how he sees the world (non-fiction).
8. Is Anybody Out There? – I had to throw in one chick-lit book. Pick up this book if you’re in the mood for a light read (fiction).
