I tried reading this book about a year ago, but couldn’t get into it. The movie, while mostly serious and somber, was easy to enjoy. Last night, I was in the mood for something on the darker side. Saoirse Ronan does an eerily good job of playing the young Briony, the girl who sets off a series of events by lying about a rape she witnesses.
