The Boleyn Inheritance

The Boleyn Inheritance

Philippa Gregory

While not as good as The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance picks up about five years after both Anne and George Boleyn have been put to death by King Henry VIII.  The main players in this novel, Jane Boleyn (George’s widow), the scheming Duke of Norfolk, Anne of Cleves, and Katherine Howard are well written by Gregory and like her other novels, it’s easy to get sucked into their lives.  This novel was a bit more serious than its predecessor and most of that is due to the terror and suspicion brought on by Henry as he continues to age.
