Kluge: The Haphazard Construction of the Human Mind

Kluge

Gary Marcus

Kluge puts forward the theory that our brain is not a brilliantly constructed mechanism made by an intelligent designer, rather it’s the result of thousands of years of evolutionary adaptations.  In other words, we’ve developed a patch-work, duct-taped brain that doesn’t always function in the most rational, optimal way.  Marcus writes in an easily readable style with a good amount of humor.
