Julia Child and Alex Prud’Homme
Once I read “Julie and Julia” and started trying out some recipes from “Mastering the Art of French Cooking“, I became more interested in Julia Child. This book tells her story of the years she and her husband, Paul Child, lived in France. Julia became interested in cooking late in life and didn’t enter the Cordon Bleu institute until she was 37. From there, she couldn’t stop cooking and it became her career and lifelong passion. She spent nine years on creating “MtAoFC”, perfecting each recipe so that serious American cooks could enjoy French cooking. Julia and Paul lived an enviable life in France and other areas of Europe as they traveled with Paul’s job as a U.S. Government employee. This book goes a long way in explaining how and where Julia found and perfected the recipes in her cook books.
