One user on IMDb wrote a comment, which I thought summarized this movie well: “Cute enough for an evening’s mindless entertainment, but exactly that and not a penny more.” I was never a huge fan of the television series, but I watched it occasionally. I find it really hard to relate to the obsession with fashion, purses, name brands, etc. And I don’t see what Carrie sees in Big.

I think the show is more about friendship between woman and how they related to each other. The clothes, brand names etc. are just extraneous. I think if you live in NYC its highly fashion conscious and therefore to make the show realistic they have to have all that stuff.
I watched the movie and felt a longing for my female friendships.
