We spent a week near Burlington, VT on Lake Champlain. The weather was beautiful and the lake house was in a great location: secluded, but only a 20-minute drive from Burlington. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Spring and Warmer Weather (Finally!)

March and April felt like the longest and rainiest months. Ever. Nearly every day we’d wake up to chilly temperatures and more clouds and rain. Then, as April came to a close, the sun started to show up a bit more, and May has been simply beautiful! Check out some of the pictures of the kids and our spring-time activities.

There and Back Again

Quinn and I took a trip to Denver to visit Rachel, Matt, and Madison. It was Quinn’s first flight and she was a rock star. She had a few minutes of fussing on the plane, but otherwise slept or was content ripping the SkyMall catalog. Here are some photos of our trip.

Somehow, I got the crazy idea to take a photo every day of each of the kids. For a full year. Maybe it was the new flash I got for my camera or the fact that I have so much time on my hands that inspired me to take on this project. Either way, it’s been fun, but we’re only on day 13. Ask me at day 251 if I still think it’s “fun”. I hesitated even posting something about this, but seeing as I’ve made it almost two weeks, I figured that making my goal public might give me some accountability to keep it up for, oh, 50 more weeks. Christmas was a lot of fun this year. Jack is just over 2 and it was exciting to see Christmas through his eyes. It was also Quinn’s first Christmas. You can see pictures from our celebration here.

A season of photographs

Most of the photographs I take are of the kids, but I do like to take some photos of the world around our little family. It’s almost officially winter, and these photos are ones I took throughout the fall. It’s amazing that the photographs start with summer-like flowers and end with snow. Even though we’re barely into the cold weather, I’m already looking forward to spring and warmer weather!

Cold weather and baking cookies!

It’s been so cold outside and we’ve been spending more time inside. Jack wanted to bake cookies, so we made chocolate chip cookies. Jack was excited, but then sold out and stopped helping right after combining the dry ingredients and then promptly had a meltdown because he couldn’t eat the cookies immediately. Ah, two-year olds! It’s hard to believe, but Quinn is three months old already. I put some new photos of her in the 3-6 month gallery. I also started taking pictures of her once a month to record her growth and changes. You can see the monthly photos here.
